VII Torneo Internacional de Go / VII International Tournament of Go * September 13-17, 2018
Join the Go Academy of Cuba for three-days of mental challenge and comeraderie. Participants will take part in five rounds of WGAC regulation games. Medals and certificates will be awarded at a heartwarming closing ceremony. Lodging will be provided by the Hotel Palco, an extension of the Convention Center of Havana. In addition to the tournament, travelers will explore the vibrant city of Havana and its outskirts, including a visit to Finca Vijia, home of Ernest Hemingway. Tournament dates are Sept. 14-16, 2018. Cycle Cuba Mission * March 3 – March 13, 2019
Cycle Enthusiasts from Colorado will embark on a unique exploration of Cuba’s Western Provinces. This ten-day journey through the provinces of Pinar del Rio and Artemisa will provide travelers with a first-hand view of Cuba’s picturesque landscape and create unique opportunities to connect with the people of Cuba in both rural and urban communities. Starting in Havana, cyclists will make their way along the Northern coast, across the Cordillero de Guanguanico, and through tobacco country to discover the history and heritage of the island. In addittion to being immersed in the natural beauty of Cuba, travelers will meet with Cuban entrepeneurs, artists, and educators. A portion of the program costs will be donated to CENESEX and The School for Austism–two charitable organizations supporting marginalized segments of the Cuban population. Cyclists throughout the US are welcome to join the adventure. Cost per person: $2100.00*
CTE Educational Excursion * June 17 – June 26, 2018
Students and staff from the Automotive, Cosmetology, and Restaurnt Mangement programs from Maryland & Washington DC Public Schools Career & Technical Education Academies will participate in this exclusive travel program designed to introduce participants into Cuba’s unique world of private entreprenuership.* Automotive Repair students will gain technical experience from Cuba’s most ingenious and resourceful mechanics–Enter the fascinating “World of the Almendron.” Retaurant Managment students will discover first hand what it’s like to run a restaurant from Paladar owners and chefs. Cosmetology students will exchange tricks of the trade with the Escuela Pelucaria in Havana. A Summer journey like none other—participants will meet experienced drivers, mechanics, and car enthusiasts; attend automotive workshops; experience behind-the-scenes restaurant tours, shop at local markets; trade beauty & salon techniques, and exhbit their techniques in a hair show. Travelers will visit a variety of cultural and historical sites, as well as enjoy down-time at the world-renowned beach resort of Veradero. Cost per person: $1950.00** Postponed to 2019

International Conference of Mind Sports * May 2 – 10, 2017 **

Embark on an intellectual and inspirational week-long journey in Cuba. Strategy game aficionados are invited to take part in a three-day event hosted by the University of Camaguey, followed by three days of exploration. Coined by Dr. Lazaro Bueno as “Cuba’s Mental Olympics,” this program invites you to test your mental mettle in Go, Chess, Checkers, and Scrabble. Beware–you’ll be matching your skills against Cuba’s brightest young minds. In addition to spending three fabulous days in the picturesque city of Camaguey, we will explore the enchanted cities of Holguin and Santiago de Cuba in Eastern Cuba. Not to worry, there will be a conference “beach break” in Playa Santa Lucia! Conference agenda and entrance fee included. Rosh Hashana in Havana * September 20 — 24, 2017
Embark on an unforgettable cultural experience. This four-day journey will intrigue and inspire. Known for their resilience and fortitude in the face of unique challenges, the Jewish community of Cuba has thrived and left a lasting impact on Cuban society. Celebrate the New Year in the companionship of the Jewish diaspora. Participants will explore the sights of the vibrant capital city of Havana and the picturesque Western Province of Pinar del Rio; visit a variety of cutlural and historial sites, and experience the energizing spirit of the Cuban people. While this excursion focuses on connecting Americans with the Jewish community of Cuba, this program is open to travelers of all faiths. Cost per person: $2195.00* Registration Closed
Shavitz Family B’Nai Mitzvah * November 19-24, 2017
The Jewish faith is unique in requiring their youth to enter adulthood by commiting to engaging with ones heritage and community. Charity and humanitarian deeds are the cornerstone of this tradition. The Shavitz family of Bethesda, Maryland are proudly supporting their children in this rite-of-passage. Alexandra, Madeline, and Evan will celebrate their B’Nai Mitzvah with the Centro Hebrero Sefaradi in Havana. Not only will the children engage with the elders of the Jewish community–and provide a donation of much-needed medical supplies–they will visit a wide range of cultural and historical sites and meet legendary figures in the world of Cuban art and sports. They will cap off their week with a luxurious escape to Varadero. A truly memorable birthday experience. Cost per person: Privately coordinated.

Are you a non-government or community organization / university student association / secondary school club with ten or more participants ready to embark on an intercultural exchange with your like-minded counterparts in Cuba? I~Dared Travels supports humanitarian-minded interactions with Cuba and its people. We are delighted to support you in creating a Unique Travel Program ideally suited to your organization. Private groups are encouraged to donate items related to their mission (i.e art supplies, sports equipment, medical supplies). Kind gestures of this nature support our underlying purpose of promoting respectful ties between our two nations.
